Sonographer
High Desert Doppler is looking for a sonographer to perform abdominal, OB/GYN,
Breast and Vascular ultrasound in a part time or a full time position. We offer a flexible
work schedule and competitive pay scale. Successful applicants will be registered in
RDMS (AB) (OB/GYN) (BR) and RVT or eligible for these. State of New Mexico License
is required
Pay is commensurate with experience.
Requirements:
Sonographer Responsibilities:
● Explaining sonographic procedures to patients, answering questions, preparing
patients by applying the gel to the skin, and positioning the patients on the table.
● Ensuring clear images for diagnostic purposes and making adjustments to the
sonographic equipment when necessary.
● Selecting the appropriate settings and adjusting the patients' positions
accordingly.
● Monitoring and caring for patients to ensure their safety and comfort during the
procedures.
● Selecting and examining images, looking for differences between healthy and
pathological areas, and determining if the scope of the exam should be
extended, based on preliminary findings.
● Presenting the sonograms and preliminary findings to the Physicians.
● Completing the appropriate documentation and maintaining patients' histories
and medical records.
● Assisting Physicians and the healthcare teams during invasive procedures.
● Maintaining and cleaning the sonographic equipment.
● Performing medical procedures, such as administering oxygen, taking vital signs,
and giving emergency treatments.
Sonographer Requirements:
● Must be a registered or registry eligible RDMS (AB) (OB/GYN) (BR) or RVT
Echocardiographer
High Desert Doppler is looking for an echocardiographer. The successful candidate will
be able to work independently in a variety of circumstances and environments.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. Ability to perform vascular ultrasound
as well as cardiac is a plus along with a willingness to learn any type of diagnostic
ultrasound.
A high degree of teamwork as well as an appetite for learning and ambitious career
advancement are also highly sought characteristics for this demanding position.
Echocardiographer Responsibilities:
● Perform a variety of diagnostic sonographic non-invasive cardiac procedures
● Be able to modify or enhance an echocardiogram in defining cardiac
anomalies utilizing ultrasound contrast agents such as Definity or sterile
saline
● Review the patient records prior to examination and obtain health history
from the patient
● Tailor exam to maximize the Echo value to the medical diagnosis, while
minimizing the patient's discomfort
● Prepare, analyze, and transcribe preliminary echocardiogram report for the
Final Approval and Signature of the Reading Cardiologist
● Optimize equipment and supplies to maximize department operations and
minimize patient time
● Be responsible for stocking general supplies and ordering supplies as
requested
● Serves as a resource to department staff other members of the health care
team as needed
● Performs staff orientation, training, and coaching
Echocardiographer Requirements:
● Previous experience is strongly preferred
● ARDMS or CCI credential or registry eligible
● Must have a sophisticated understanding of cardiovascular anatomy,
physiology and pathophysiology, fluid dynamics, physics of imaging and
doppler examination and clinical medicine
● Must be able to understand the clinical question and plan and execute the
exam accordingly and know when the clinical result or established protocol is
inappropriate and deviate from protocols accordingly
